What is JCI?
Joint Commission International (JCI) is a subsidiary body of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). As a not-for-profit and non-government organization, it is consisted of international experts in the medical, nursing, administration, public policy and other aspects from Western Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Central America, Asia Pacific, North America, Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Africa. As of October 2014, it has given guidance and assessment to the public and private health care institutions and government departments of more than 40 countries around the world, and 78 medical institutions of 13 countries have passed the international JCI Accreditation.
The fifth edition of JCI standards, including 304 standards and 1,233 measuring elements, are aimed primarily at the most important part during the medical care and nursing process, meanwhile, the JCI standards focus on public facilities and safety management, staff qualifications and training, quality improvement, coordination and cooperation of hospital leadership, and information management, etc. JCI standards are recognized worldwide as the standard of medical services, representing the highest level of hospital services and hospital management, and also the accreditation mode recognized by World Health Organization.
JCI standards have a philosophy to maximize the achievable standards, be patient-centered, and develop appropriate policies, systems and processes to encouraged continuous quality improvement and meet the local culture.
Harmonicare and JCI
Beijing Harmonicare Women and Children Hospital Under Harmonicare Medical passed the international JCI certification with high scores. In strict accordance with internationally recognized JCI standards and combined with 14 core hospital system requirements of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Harmonicare Medical develops a set of stringent standards of medical services and management, to ensure that patients receive continuous, safe and high-quality services. Harmonicare’s JCI Journey
On August 10, 2009, Harmonicare went to Boston Partners Harvard Medical International (PHMI) for a cooperation visit.
On June 22, 2010, Harmonicare Medical JCI Project Preparatory Team was formally established.
On August 4, 2010, Harmonicare Medical entered into and signed the contract with PHMI, which means official start of Harmonicare’s preparatory work for JCI accreditation.
On September 19, 2011, experts from PHMI came to Harmonicare Medical to review and guide our preparation for JCI accreditation.
On October 25, 2011, Joint Commission International (JCI) carried out accreditation evaluation on Harmonicare Medical.
From 2011-2014, Harmonicare Medical carried out JCI standard system in the
entire Group to assure our patients receive persistent, safe and high-quality
service from us.
On October 30, 2014, Harmonicare Medical passed the accreditation of the fifth edition of JCI with an excellent points.
On November 17,2016, Beijing Harmonicare Women & Children’s Hospital has passed the international JCI accreditation with high scores.
